Etruscan Impasto Ware Chalice, 600-550 BC

Appealing Etruscan chalice with shallow rounded floor and slightly reentrant, straight wall. Standing on a low conical foot.

Buccheroid impasto ware is the precursor to black Bucchero pottery.

Similar, but with more inwardly sloping walls, cf. Beazley database, vase no. 1005926.

Intact, fine condition. Carefully burnished surface.

H. 8.1 cm (3.2 in), D. 14.5 cm (5.7 in)
